Ford cria picape inspirada em Rocket League

A Ford acaba de apresentar, no Salão de Chicago, uma versão customizada da picape F-150 inspirada no game “Rocket League”. O jogo online em que carros se tornam jogadores de futebol é um fenômeno, que tem atraído o interesse da indústria do automóvel.

A própria Ford já tinha criado uma versão da picape para o jogo e agora resolveu levar para o mundo real. Repleta de apêndices em verde-limão, faróis em LED, foguetes na caçamba e até mesmo as populares rodas luminescentes do jogo (montadas em imensos pneus de 37 polegadas) fazem parte da decoração do carro.

A grandalhona é um dos destaques do estande da marca. “A F-150 real tem as quatro rodas no chão. No jogo, os veículos voam pelo ar e batem em uma bola de futebol gigante, basicamente. Então ela precisava parecer capaz de fazer isso”, aponta o designer da Ford, Adam Riccobelli.

Rocket League

“Rocket League” foi publicado pelo estúdio Psyonix em 2015 para Windows e PS4. No ano passado, o jogo se tornou gratuito para todas as plataformas, inclusive Xbox One, Mac, Nintendo Switch e PlayStation 5. No game, jogadores formam duplas, trios ou quartetos que precisam disputar partidas de futebol com carros.

Em 2020, o game chegou a ter 1,3 milhão de jogadores simultâneos. Só faltou a F-150 marcar um gol com as imensas bolas de aço do game.
