Quem nunca viu por aí um carro fervendo devido à falta de água no radiador? Se acontecer com você, cuidado! Não vá abrindo a tampa do radiador ou do reservatório de expansão sem mais nem menos. Você pode sofrer queimaduras graves!

Ao ver a fumaça saindo, encoste rapidamente o carro, desligue o motor e espere o vapor escapar. O sistema de arrefecimento é como uma panela de pressão. Se você tirar a tampa rápido, vai voar água fervendo pra tudo quanto é lado. Com um pano úmido, desenrosque parte da tampa, deixando o restante do vapor sair. Só depois disso é que você pode tirá-la completamente. Espere mais um pouco pra colocar água fria, porque o choque térmico também pode fazer a água quente espirrar.

Complete com água até o nível indicado e corra para a oficina de olho no marcador (ou luz de alerta) de temperatura. Se o carro voltar a esquentar rápido, o melhor é parar e chamar o reboque. Se insistir, você pode fundir o motor. Na oficina, de um jeito ou de outro, peça pra verificar se há vazamento. Aproveite e mande trocar aquela água velha por outra, misturada com o líquido de arrefecimento recomendado no manual.
